XKR: Pushing The Cat Back Into The Black

Jaguar has earlier unveiled its new XKR model which gets extra 120 horsepower compared to the XK model. The British car maker meticulously designed and manufactured the latest XKR to attain a powerful and posh vehicle without drilling a hole in the purchaser's pocket. XKR is also expected to push Jaguar to its original standing in the automotive arena at the same time recover from the losses it had previously experienced.

The new member of the Jaguar clan came from XK series. Said series, which is deemed as grand tourer, is composed of the XKR and XK8. It is produced to replace XJS. The power of said vehicle came from the automaker's DOHC V-8 engine with 4 valves per cylinder. Jaguar engineers say that the noise of the supercharger vehicle is reduced by 5 decibels. On the other hand, the intake noise is muted and the exhaust tuned. When idle, the engine exudes the aura of a V-8 however; when it is driven, it looks like an exotic Italian car combined with an American rugged vehicle.

From an angle, Jaguar XKR can be perceived as either a coupe or a convertible. It is neither flamboyant nor traditional. However, it has entertained modifications on Jaguar XKR air intake, aluminum-trimmed side gills, aluminum mesh grilles in front, black brake calipers, wheel option, quad-tip exhaust, 'R' badging, and lower rear fascia.

The latest version of the vehicle is powered by an enhanced Jaguar XKR steering system. The latter is the famed variable-ratio, electro-hydraulic Servotronic steering system, which has a speed-sensitive variable assist. It can be used in different driving conditions. Another powerful system incorporated to the supercharged XKR is CATS (Computer Active Technology Suspension). The latter has been tweaked by the car maker for enhanced reflexes. Hence, it can swiftly handle the shifting of driving from soft to firm.

The interior of XKR also entertained modest upgrades which include sport seats with more lateral support, aluminum-weave trim, standard DVD navigation system, climate control and more, to yield a more desirable vehicle.

The Trick To Life

What forces that first step, when you first go travelling or make that first big decision at life?s major crossroads?

For me it was when I'd left school and worked for about a year and a half. I was going to travel, but began to drift and get into a comfort zone. Then the guy who owned the business came in and said, 'We have to start talking about your pension scheme Rob, for when you retire.

The Earth tilted.

At lunch I went into town and bought a tent, sleeping bag, backpack and a train ticket to Paris for that night, then went back to work and handed in an instant notice.

The next day I was outside Paris with my thumb in the air, with a bottle of red win, lump of cheese, a French loaf, an apple and a bar of chocolate in my bag. I walked passed over a hundred people hitching and got to the back of the line, turned and the first car that passed, stopped and picked me up.

That whole decision, choice process, finally led me to Australia seven years later. Providence stepped in and led the way.

The evening before I caught the train, I nearly didn't. It was so hard to leave the house, my family, my comfort zone, but that first step was magic, because the second was easier, and after that it was just adventure.

Nothing compares to that sense of total freedom. For some it drives them insane, but for me the not knowing what?s going to happen or where I?m going to be, or even where I am, from one moment to the next is the most exhilarating feeling I have found.

Twenty-one years later I am still in Australia, but see it as still part of the trip. I have two wonderful teenage children, a marriage that sadly didn?t work but one that most definitely is working and a long list of successes and interesting learning curves we wont call failures. Businesses, jobs, adventures, life, and all because I took that first step out of the house.

People like to plan their future, but the planning can stop them from getting to where they really want to be. With a plan there is often little room for the unexpected, and life is all about the unexpected.

Sitting back and waiting for things to happen the way you want them is a recipe for dying sad and full of regrets. There is no second-guessing the Universe. We have no idea what?s going to happen once we make the step to where we want to be, because Providence will step in as well and lead us to places we never dreamed.

And what may seem the worst possible luck, often leads to the best possible outcome.

I fell down a donkey track on a Greek Island and fractured my ankle. It was agony, and the injury swelled up so I couldn?t put any weight on it. 27 years later it?s still swollen.

I?d been running to meet a boat, as in return for free accommodation, food and copious amounts of wine the old lady of the house asked me to meet all the ferries and bring paying customers back to her ?Rooms For Let? in the village.

This was a great deal, but I was late and ran instead of walked down a donkey path. For an hour I lay there, missing all the big ferries carrying thousands of people, before finally hobbling to the port and watching a tiny, twenty person ferry pull alongside the jetty.

A girl walked off, and I asked her if she wanted a room. She said yes, and as a result I travelled to Australia four and a half years later to visit this girl for a holiday, and ended up staying. We didn?t stay together, but we still see each other sometimes, and our children have been in the same class together for most of their schooling. If I hadn?t fallen over, this simply wouldn?t have happened. I would have gone in another direction.

Life is full of these twists and turns. Full of ?what if? moments that if we thought about them, would send us crazy and paralyse us into not moving ? in case we got it wrong.

But there is no ?wrong?. There is what works and what doesn?t work sure, but right and wrong, these are concepts we?ve made up and we?re the only species to do it.

We?re the only species that do a lot of things that maybe it shouldn?t. Our planet is in crisis because of our actions, but this is just an example of what works and what doesn?t, if only we?d learn!

The secret is so simple. We are in charge of our lives in that we get to choose whether to live a life of doing, or watching other people do. Living a life of fear, of worrying about what others will think or believing a lifelong belief we made up about not being good at or able to do what we want, is a choice we make. It isn?t forced upon us.

I have been privileged recently to work with a small group of severely disabled children and their families. I have been humbled, touched, moved and inspired by who these people are and I swear, I will never take ANYTHING I do for granted again.

For all our complaining about what is and isn?t right about our lives and the world, these children cannot do anything for themselves, yet they smile, they laugh in spite of the fact their brains are functioning just like ours and they can think, reason, dream and imagine just like us, but they cannot ?do?. Many cannot communicate in any way.

If you?re dreaming about doing something, take the first step and try not to have pre-conceived ideas of what it will all look like. It?s all about the first step, and having the courage to make it AND accept; to go with whatever comes next.

And the trick to life is simple. Find whatever it is you?re passionate about. If you don?t know, go on a quest to find out. Try everything until you find it.

And you?ll know when you do, because your heart will race faster, your tummy will turn and there will be a zithering sensation through your body that you get from nothing else. It?s the thing that makes you jump out of bed in the morning and cant wait to get started on.

If you don?t have this now, then change. Life is a stunning adventure in which we take the lead. And then ? it?s over.

Take the step, hold on tight, and don?t forget to breathe and enjoy the moment.

Tents For Lightweight Campers And Ultralite Backpacking

Tents For Lightweight Campers And Ultralite BackpackingSubmitted By: Mick Legg

O n any camping or backpacking trip you want to be able to set up camp quickly when you arrive at your campsite, and also pack up just as quick when you are leaving. That is why choosing a tent designed for lightweight campers can be very helpful. A good tent has many characteristics, but if you are clueless about tents then read on to figure out what makes for a good tent choice.

There are many tents available on the market. There are certain ones, though, that seem to be the most popular for backpacking.

Dome tent: This type of tent has a lot of height and space. It uses only two poles, so it is easy to set up, but with only two poles there is not much support. This type of tent is best for calm weather conditions.

Modified dome tent: This is like a dome tent, but with more support. It has the same good qualities of a regular dome tent, but can work in more diverse weather conditions.

Tunnel tents: These tents do not have much height. They have two poles and need stakes to keep the tent secure. It is lightweight so it is easy to carry.

Teepee tent: This tent has one pole in the centre with the tent draped over it and then is staked. It does not have a floor, but provides great protection from the elements. It is also useful to cook in if the weather is bad outside, as it has no floor, your stove can be set up on the ground. Make sure of adequate ventilation when cooking though.

Freestanding tent: This is easy to set up and quite sturdy. It is very lightweight and should be staked so it does not blow away.

Single-skin construction tent: These tents do not have a fly. They are very easy to set up and do not require a lot of extra cords or stakes. They are lightweight, too. They do require ventilation because they acquire condensation easily.

Double-skin construction tent: Like a single-wall they are easy to set up. They have the outer layer or fly. They are well ventilated and protect against the elements. Plus they can be quite a bit warmer than a single skin tent, making them a better choice for colder weather.

In addition to the different styles of tents for lightweight campers there are seasonal tents. Some tents are made to work better in warm weather or cold weather. There are also tents that are designed to be used in every season. It is important to not only look at the design, but also the seasons for which the tent was designed to be used for.

Your tent is often going to be the only thing between you and the elements,so its vital to choose the right one for you. Obviously the price will be a fairly large considering factor on your final choice of a lightweight campers tent, but I would suggest buying the best one that you can afford within your budget. This way it should last you for many backpacking and camping trips in the future.

Clue The Board Game

Clue (known outside North America as Cluedo) is a board game for 3 or more players, in which they the players try to solve a murder mystery through a process of logical deduction.

At the beginning of the game, three cards are drawn at random (one Suspect card, one Weapon card, and one Room card), and placed inside an envelope without any of the players seeing them. These three cards specify the location, weapon and criminal in a fictional murder (example; Professor Plum, with the Candlestick in the Library). The other cards are then dealt out between players.

During the game, the players take turns moving their pieces around the mansion where the murder took place (movement speed is determined by rolling dice). In their turns, the players may also make suggestions about the murder, and the other player's must disprove the suggestion if they can (by showing a card disproving it to the suggesting player, but not to other players).

When one player believes he has deduced all three details of the murder, he may make an accusation. He then examines the cards in the envelope to see if his accusation is correct. If the accusation is correct, the player wins. If the accusation is incorrect, the player is eliminated, but places the cards back in the envelope without revealing them to the remaining players.

One amusing aspect of the game, is that it is possible for one's own character to be the murderer, and even win the game by deducing one's own guilt.

A Plus Size Bra Will Make Your Naturally Curvy Body Look Even More Tempting

As a woman, I have faced the difficulty of finding the right bra many a time. But what makes it even more tedious is the fact that I have a naturally curvaceous figure.

To find a bra that is both supportive and comfortable is a monumental task and this is where plus size bras come to the rescue. With todays ever increasing market there are plus size bras available for the support you need and the comfort you want, as well as that extra added beauty.

Plus size bras have done away with all the trials we women had to put up with in the past. With all the brands and varieties available, you can not only find plus size bras that you will love wearing, but bras that will accentuate your naturally curvaceous figure.

When we think of plus size bras, automatically we may picture two huge domes with hulking thick straps, digging uncomfortably into our shoulders. This picture is a thing of the past, sexy plus size bras are the future and are here to stay!

You can get extremely feminine lacy plus size bras, or sultry satin, silk and lace bras with under wire for extra support, strapless plus size bras, and even minimizer full figure bras. The companies have realized that a large portion of women have been endowed with naturally voluptuous and exotically formed figures and that this is what a woman should look like!

During pregnancy and your life span, your breasts can change size and sometimes dramatically, and having a quality plus size bra will make all the difference. You can make your figure look even more tempting, develop even more confidence and feel exceptionally comfortable in a plus size bra that fits just right. A full figure bra that fits properly will help improve your posture.

Nursing Plus Size Bras

Nursing bras are very comfortable if you are a breast feeding mother. You have to feed your baby periodically and the process is very cumbersome when you have to do it wearing regular bras. These bras have provisions to feed the child easily and comfortably. Look for plus size nursing bras that have a braiding support instead of wiring, which will give you a lot more comfort if you need to sleep in it. Most nursing bras are either made out of cotton / lycra for gentle support, but you can also get these plus size bras in very sexy designs too. You can buy a Nursing bra for just around ?22.99.

Plus Size And Push Ups

Plus size bras are bras meant for full-figured women. These bras come with minimizers too, which help to minimize the projection of your bust. Push-ups have the opposite effect of the plus size bras and are commonly used by smaller structured women. This type of bra will give your appearance an even more heightened appearance, which is sure to get your partner's attention away from the footaball game or whatever else he is doing!.

Sports Bras

You have to feel comfortable when walking or doing exercises. Wearing a regular bra just doesn't provide the support we need, but also gives us the much needed comfort we deserve. I mean can you imagine running on a treadmill with a poorly constructed bra, not only will it have long term effects on your back but can also damage your breasts. You can buy a sports bra for around ?19.99.

You should experience comfort and support while wearing a bra all day long. You have to be specific about which one suits you the most. You have to very careful about your size, which is often subject to change. It is necessary for you to check your size before buying one.

Plus size bras have finally come left that unattractive image of the past behind and become hugely sexy bras for today and tomorrow. Whether its a sports bra or an everyday sexy bra, we fuller figured women have finally been given a choice that is both comfortable and sexy. History of Board Games

Board games are certainly a lot of fun and they have been around for a long time. They bring friends and family together for friendly competition and the outcome is different every single time the game is played. Perhaps that is why the board game has not declined in popularity throughout its long history.

The history

Speaking of the history of board games, you will find that they have always been played upon a flat surface that is called the board. It is believed that board games have been around for 4,000 years, but unfortunately the written history does not extend back that far. However, there has been talk of board games discovered that extends back beyond 3,500 years.

Being that Asia tends to be the area in which some of the most historic facts are found, it isn't until 400 B.C. that the board games seems to have been discovered. However, the history of board games reveals that they were quite popular in ancient Greece and then spread throughout Europe. Eventually, the board game made its way to the United States where people have enjoyed them for centuries.

Nevertheless, the history of board games does not end there. There are both strategy games that involve trapping the opponent in some way and then there are racing games where the player's pieces are moved toward the finish line. Whoever reaches the finish line first is the winner.

One of the most popular racing games that come about in 1904 went by the name 'The Landlord's Game.' This is known as being one of the earliest forms of Monopoly. It wasn't copyrighted until 1933 when Charles Darrow decided to sell it for profit. It was not known who made the first version of the game, but he cashed in on it by selling versions that used different street names based on the area in which the players resided. It was also printed on tablecloths rather than boards with trinkets from around the house used as game pieces.

Today

You will find that today the history of board games continues. Many of the games that our parents and grandparents enjoyed as children are still manufactured. We see Monopoly coming out with various editions and it has never seemed to decline in popularity. Nevertheless, the board game is a great way to get family and friends together for some friendly fun and good conversation. The history of board games shows that this has been a result the entire time, which makes the board game a true family activity. If you can't get the kids to slow down long enough to talk, invite them in with a board game. You'll be glad you did.

Top 10 American Christmas Traditions

Every family has different traditions during the holiday season. For some families, one holiday tradition may include an uncle getting dressed up as Santa Claus. In another family, Christmas Eve dinner may top the tradition list. Some traditions are passed on from generation to generation, while others are created as families grow and change. While there is no way to create a comprehensive list of traditions, the following list highlights ten traditions that are representative of American families celebrating Christmas.

Number 10: Caroling. This tradition may not be as popular today as it once was. Perhaps it's because too many people live in the suburbs, where houses are far away and neighborhoods are not as close knit as they used to be. But singing among family members and classmates still tops the hearts of many folks. Many of us can remember caroling around the nursing home with our friends or bundling up to hit the streets on a cold winter's evening.

Number 9: Greeting Cards. What American holiday would be complete without greetings cards? The first Christmas card appeared in London in 1843 and became popular in America around 1875. Today many families send Christmas cards to their friends and family across the United States and even around the world. Some busy families include personalized letters reviewing the past year for their loved ones, while other families prefer to send cards featuring a recent family photo.

Number 8: Shopping. Christmas shopping season officially begins the day after Thanksgiving and continues until Christmas day. To some folks, it's the most enjoyable part of the season. To others, shopping is one big necessary headache. Internet shopping has recently changed the face of holiday shopping forever, and men across world have been cheering! But no matter how popular internet shopping has become, nothing can compare to an old fashioned holiday shopping trip to see the lights, hear the bells, and smell the holiday excitement.

Number 7: Movies. For many families, the month of December becomes one long trip through Christmas movie nostalgia. Not only do the TV channels rebroadcast all of the old favorite Christmas movies, but the true movie-fan family also has DVDs and tapes of all their own favorites. Whether you fancy Rudolph or George Bailey, movies help families gear up their Christmas spirit in the days leading up to the festive day.

Number 6: Party. Christmas parties have become an essential part of the American holiday season, and the office Christmas party is a notoriously good time. The Christmas party can be one of two things. One, the party can be the chance to see old friends and colleagues, and make new ones under the mistletoe. Or the Christmas party can be a chance to create stories for the rest of the office to share over the New Year.

Number 5: Eggnog. This holiday treat is often linked to Number 6, and perhaps is a lot of the problem with Number 6.

Number 4: Cookies. For children and grownups alike, this may be the best Christmas tradition of all. Every holiday season, children of all ages bake up an assortment of their Christmas cookie specialties, while the rest of the family anxiously waits to taste their wonderful creations.

Number 3: Stockings. Each Christmas season, stockings can be found throughout American homes. Stockings may include gag gifts, like coal, or little gifts, like candy, CD's, and socks. Either way, hanging a stocking from the fireplace mantle is as much of a part of Christmas as Santa Claus and Rudolph.

Number 2: Christmas lights. Speaking of Santa and Rudolph, how else can they find your house on Christmas Eve without a little help from decorations all over your abode? The brilliant colors and cheer of Christmas decorations on a home is enough to warm the heart of even the biggest Grinch. Just be careful not to pull a Clark Griswold!

Number 1: Christmas Tree. Besides the manger scene, there is not a better known symbol of Christmas than the Christmas tree. Trees around the United States are fully decked out in lights, ornaments, and a star on top, waiting for Santa to come and fill the underneath with presents for the entire family.

Whether your favorite Christmas tradition made our list or not, the most important thing to remember this holiday season is to make cherished memories with your loved ones. Celebrate deep-rooted traditions and continue to create new holiday traditions to share with your family and friends.

Take Your Baby For A Luxury Ride In A Bugaboo

Sleek, innovative design, countless buyer options, convertible tops, superior handling…sounds like the newest, hottest, foreign model sports car, correct? No, it is a Bugaboo stroller! In many ways, these Bugaboo strollers are the sports cars of baby products. Celebrities and trendsetters all over the world push their little ones in one of the multiple strollers in the Bugaboo line. It’s flexible design make it the best choice for globe trotters, and city dwellers alike.

Bugaboo offers three different models of strollers, so parents can chose exactly what they are looking for. Each type is named after an amphibious creature- the Gecko, Frog, and Chameleon. Each of the three come with several accessories, such as a mosquito net, sun canopy, maintenance kit, carry handle, rain cover, and pretty much anything else you can think of to keep your baby safe and comfortable on any adventure, be it grocery shopping, or a jaunt down the beach. However, American parents should be warned that the Bugaboo manual is written in “British English”, and some words may seem strange. For example, Velcro is referred to as “hook and pull fasteners.” Consider this like a manual to a foreign automobile!

Bugaboo also offers several other fun and handy accessories that can be purchased separately, such as umbrellas, diaper bags, set covers, and car seats to match the stroller. Be warned, these strollers and accessories do not come cheap. The Frog, the most basic model available., can cost upwards of $700 for the stroller alone. The Gecko and Chameleon models are even more expensive. Fortunately, most parents who purchase a Bugaboo agree that “you get what you pay for.”

The Bugaboo Frog is the best selling , and most basic stroller in the line. It’s simple, versatile design make it the perfect choice for the on the go parents or nannies. The Frog’s durable wheels can not be stopped, whether on city pavement, park pebbles, or sandy beaches. The stroller is a comfortable fit for every baby, age newborn to 4 years old. Beyond the Frog, the other two models offer much more options and extras.

The Gecko is the middle of the line Bugaboo. It offers the same maneuverability as the Frog, and much more. The Bugaboo Gecko comes with reversible handles (for city verses woods traveling), adjustable wheels for sand or snow, reversible seats, an Aerosleep mattress (the softest material available), a bassinet that can be separated and removed, and machine washable covers.

The final, and most equipped Bugaboo is the Chameleon. This is the Jaguar of strollers, for parents who do not want to compromise, who want it all. The Bugaboo Chameleon has all of the features of both the Frog and Chameleon, and so much more. Just looking at it’s bright colors, and futuristic design let you know that this stroller is something special. Some of the features exclusive to the Chameleon are its adjustable swivel wheel suspension, Aerosleep seat which can be removed, and used separately, and height adjustable handlebar.

All three Bugaboo models are available in a variety of colors. The colors are always vibrant and attractive, and every model is made with high quality, easily cleaned material. While these strollers may look unconventional to some, they are the future in luxury baby transportation! Let your baby ride in style with a Bugaboo stroller.

Prehistoric To Playstation A History Of Children's Toys

Traditional toys and games have been a part of society and culture all over the world for thousands of centuries, possibly since the beginning of time. As long ago as 6000 B.C., we know of the existence of games similar to modern day chess. Babylonians in 4000 B.C. also played a board game similar to traditional games of checkers and chess.

The first games of backgammon have been dated back to ancient Samaria in 3000 B.C. In Egypt, toy marbles were first fashioned out of stone. By 2000 B.C., Egyptians were making and playing with a number of children's toys and games. Dolls were made from string, paper, and other easy to find materials and board games much like our traditional game of checkers were played. At the same time, the first skates, constructed of iron, were in use in Scandinavia.

Traditional toys like kites and yo-yos were first introduced in 1000 B.C. Though kites were probably in existence long before, their first recorded appearance was in China during this time period. Greek children begin to play with yo-yos made of stone. Soon after, the first playing cards were dealt in Asia.

Over the next thousand years, many of the kids toys we know of today were designed in their earliest forms from crude materials. Most traditional toy inventions were not a recorded part of history until the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The first roller skates were invented in 1759 by a man named Joseph Merlin, and, like many traditional toys, they are still being refined and altered today to fit modern society.

The 19th century saw the introduction of many traditional toys in America and throughout Europe. Dolls were already being made in several European countries, but in 1840 an American doll maker began the first mass production of this still popular traditional toy. Only three years later, the first American board game was produced, called 'The Mansion of Happiness.'

Board games continued to be popular children's toys throughout the years. The Indian game, Parcheesi, is tone of he oldest toys to still be produced today and was introduced to England in 1867 as Ludo. As the 19th century drew to a close, more and more innovative traditional toys came into production. Traditional toys, like alphabet blocks, stuffed animals, and wagons and sleds, were all being commercially manufactured.

The late 1800's saw the introduction of toy guns and pistols, as well as the BB gun. The concept of talking toy dolls was perfected and high quality wooden toys were produced in a number of traditional toy styles, including train sets. Radio Flyer developed the traditional toy sled for outdoor winter fun and musical toys and soft toys were in mass production.

The early 20th century marked the invention of lots of traditional toys children still adore during playtime today. Battery powered train sets and the famous Lionel trains were invented in the early 1900's and the cherished teddy bear became more and more popular in the United States. Other traditional toys, like rag dolls, stacking rings, and all sorts of block varieties were also introduced during the first part of the 20th century.

Today, video games and electronic toys have gained a fair share of the toy market, but classic, traditional toys still continue to warm the hearts of children around the world. Traditional toys, like dolls, blocks, and board games, have been around for thousands of years and will most likely continue to be an important part of childhoods for thousands more.

Gary Clay is an expert on quality traditional toys and runs the UK's favourite shop for kids, Monkeyshine where you will find a range of luxury traditional toys for children.

Oregon Commercial Real Estate

Real estate is broadly categorized into two types. This includes residential and commercial real estate. As the name suggests, the latter revolves around sale and lease of property that is intended for use in trade and business. This includes a wide range of business opportunities including shopping malls, gas stations, car parks and office buildings. The Oregon commercial real estate market is huge and encompasses innumerable viable plots and property.

Oregon commercial real estate could refer to an empty plot of land, a building, a store or multiple shops, or even a park. The instant any property is to be used for a business purpose, it is categorized as commercial real estate. Oregon commercial real estate includes land, as well as anything that is permanently built or fixed onto it. These fixtures include nursing homes, buildings and fences. They also refer to pipes, plumbing, heating devices and light fixtures that are inbuilt or fixed on the exterior of a building. Commercial real estate can be purchased, sold or rented as required. Such commitments prove to be profitable for real estate agents who deal in them. Since commercial real estate deals with profitability in the long run, entrepreneurs do no rush into such commitments. It is important to find an Oregon commercial real estate property that is feasible and can help increase trade.

Price points for Oregon commercial real estate depend upon their location. Areas that are established as commercially profitable are categorized within higher price brackets, as compared to others located in developing areas. Their rates are calculated differently from residential real estate. A number of Oregon real estate listing companies have dedicated commercial real estate databases that are easy to access and designed to help clients find a viable property in a short time. Before finalizing an Oregon commercial real estate deal, it is important to ensure the property is not blacklisted and all fixtures within it are in compliance with state regulations.

Interesting Activities For Your Toddler

It is not
easy to keep a toddler engaged. If you are having trouble with yours, these
easy activities can help you. Not only will your toddler love them but will
also learn a lot from them.

Toddlers
are notorious tantrum throwers. Their high energy and new found independence
often leads them to trouble. One of the best ways to handle their extra energy
and urge for something new is to provide them with interesting age appropriate
activities. This article presents some engaging activities that can provide
learning experiences to toddlers.

?

One of the
most loved activities is playing with dough. You can get play dough from the
market or create your own. Give your child a rolling pin, plastic cutters and
dough. You will be amazed at the type of shapes he creates using these and it
will really help improve his imagination and motor skills.

On a day
your toddler wants to be on his feet, you can play the shadow game. You will
also be able to enjoy the outdoors in this game and your child will learn more
about nature. In this game you can play goofy and act as if you are chasing his
shadow or that your shadow is chasing you. You can step on his shadow and ask
him to find yours and step on it.

?

Another
great game for the active days is chasing. Toddlers simply love being run after
and so you can give a new twist to this game by turning into his favorite TV
character or animal. Jump from recliners and other furniture pieces to
add adventure. You can become a roaring lion while he becomes a rabbit or you
can be the big cat Tom while he is the tiny mouse Jerry. Try options like
birds, fish, hen and others. And of course, remember to hug and kiss him when
you finally catch him!

?

You can
make story time more fun by using hand puppets. Take a pair of socks, draw eyes
and mouth on them. Put one on your hand and the other on your kid's. Now make
any conversations using this sock puppet and watch your kid getting drawn into
the game completely. You can teach him social skills with this game and also
make the old stories more amusing.

?

To teach
your little one color, you can make each day a color day. So if it is a red
day, you and your child wears red outfits, eat red apples, jams and tomatoes,
pick red flowers and cover bedroom set with red sheet. This will
make him remember the colors more effectively. To help him understand shapes,
you can use cardboard boxes of different shapes and sizes and create a train
out of them. Empty cereal boxes, take-out covers and other such throw away can
be used to create the train. Make holes and use string to connect the end of
one box with the front of the other.

?

If your
toddler loves cars, use bedroom furniture to start a journey.
Make pillows the car seats and bed, the car. Give him a circular plate to turn
into a steering wheel and take him to distant lands! You can show him animals,
fishes, people, vehicles and anything else while on the journey.

Real Estate Investment Tips

Real estate investment presents optimistic cash flow along with tax benefits. However, much like any other investment niche, real estate is dependent on intricate market trends that must not be overlooked, in case the investor may undergo a major loss. Surprisingly, many of the newbie investors are keen to part with their hard earned money, devoid of carrying out a preliminary research of their investment. They also bank on intuitions and traditional trends instead of relying on a meticulous analysis. But before you risk your investment, do heed the following real estate investing advice, in order to make certain some momentous returns on your property investment.

a) Verify the seller?s credentials ? Newbie investors find a lucrative property but don?t find any inconvenience while verifying the seller?s credentials, since they are in a scurry to bag the property. They should also confirm some definite aspects as well, together with rent payment records, taxes, and other possible expenses.

b) Avoid negative cash flow ? This is an additional real estate investing advice for selecting a property that does not eat away your working capital on a standard basis and there is no point in buying a property that necessitates more money for its upkeep relative to the revenue it generates. You might also be forced to sell such a worthy asset former to the realization of any remunerations of ownership.

c) Original tenants can afford the much required information ? Ask the tenants if they are troubled by pest infestation, lack of basic amenities, or some other recurring problem. Of course you don?t want to buy a property that requires an awful lot of repair, and even if you do, you must know the problems outspoken.

d) Look for an insurance cover ? A decisive real estate investing advice is that you must have sufficient insurance coverage for your property bought recently and insurance will also offer the much needed shroud to guard your personal assets against legal actions.

e) You must charge fair rents ? No expense hurts more than what?s acquired in the upkeep of a vacant property and so arraign fair rents to make certain that your tenants affix with you for as long as you wish for. Moreover, you must also ensure that the chosen tenants are not defaulters. Verify their credentials, talk to their previous landlords, and also check their credit history.

f) Sustain a certain degree of stinginess until and unless you have a healthy source of income ? Once you have closed a profitable deal, you must ward off from going on a profligate shopping spree. Instead re-invest your profit towards another property payment on a normal basis until you conquer a significant affirmative cash flow.

On the whole, real estate investing can be an extremely profitable investment niche. But you must have a good grip of what the procedure entails, and must not leave any stone unturned. Just stick on to the real estate investing advices, and you shall be on your way to develop into a professional real estate investor. Now let us see how to value any piece of real estate. When considering real estate VALUE, whether it?s a real estate stock or a property, there are two value rules that are to be applied:

  • Don't pay too much for the earth.
  • Don't pay too much for the business.
As a good real estate investment rule of thumb, net rents in real estate have averaged about 1% above Treasury bonds. Once you?ve figured your P/E, it may be very different from the current nationwide fair value P/E guess of 16. If your P/E is low, you may have gotten a good deal, or you could collect high rents from your place. If your P/E is twice as high as 16, my advice is that you ought to consider selling. The tricky thing about selling real estate is that real estate is not liquid. Unlike stocks, where we have the luxury of being able to sell whenever we want and the luxury of trailing stops to get us out exactly when we want out, in real estate, it?s not so easy. You unfortunately need to be a good guesser, because you actually need to sell into an ?up? market, and buy in a down market.

Ultralight Backpacking Secrets

Ultralight backpacking? I remember when I first cut my toothbrush handle in half. I thought I was going light then, with thirty-five pounds on my back for a weekend backpacking trip. Now I am going heavy if get near fifteen pounds.

The biggest change was when I reduced the weight of the ig three. These are your backpack, sleeping bag and tent. This article, however, is about some of the little things I have learned along the way. They include weight-saving tricks, but also ways to be safe and comfortable as well.

Ultralight Backpacking Tips

- To have warm hiking shoes in the morning, put them under your sleeping bag by your legs, or even in your sleeping bag if you have a plastic bag to put them in. I sometime keep my shoes warm by using them as a pillow - it is more comfortable than you might think. Point one shoe each way, so they cradle your head, and lay a shirt or other piece of clothing over them.

- Use less stove fuel by cooking out of the wind. Block the wind with a improvised windscreen of some sort. Cooking time can double in even a slight breeze.

- Evaporative heat loss results from evaporation of moisture (this is why your body sweats to cool off). To reduce this form of heat loss, you need to stay as dry as you can. Wear your rain gear when walking through wet bushes, and don't sit directly on snow.

- Conductive heat loss results from heat being conducted away from your body by direct contact with colder things. Don't sit directly on cold rocks or snow - use your sleeping pad, or sit on a log (wood is less conductive than rocks).

- The lightest pan? You probably won't find it in backpacking catalogs. Every titanium pan I've seen weighs more than the cheap aluminum pan I bought in a local dollar-store. They make backpacking pans too thick. I removed the handle and added a wire hanging handle to my soup pan, and it weighs about two ounces.

- A light seat cushion can be made from a sleeping bag pad. Use an old basic blue foam pad. Cut a square about 12 inches square out of it. This will weigh about one ounce (3/8 pad). It makes a nice waterproof seat when you want to sit on a wet rock, log or on the ground. Pack it against your back inside your pack and it will also pad you from any sharp or clunky items.

- The cold wind might chill the front of your body, even though your back is hot and sweaty. When this happens, put your jacket on backwards, and leave it opened. This will keep your back cooler while protecting the front of your body.

- When it is hot, soak your hat in every stream or water source you pass. A wet hat is like a little air conditioner on your head. Try a wet bandana around your neck too. This trick works best in dry climates.

- Attach alligator clips to the top of your pack, and you'll always have an easy way to hang clothing to dry while you hike.

- If your damp clothes haven't dried by morning, put them on - unless it is too cold. They'll dry quickly once you start hiking. Drying them this way is generally safer than allowing damp clothes to accumulate in your pack.

- One way you can lighten your load is to carry high-calorie foods. Suppose you need 12,000 calories for a weekend trip. This could weigh from fifteen pounds down to four pounds, depending on the foods you select. Mixed nuts, for example, have twice as many calories per pound as bread. Plan for some variety, and balance the weight savings with decent nutritional choices, of course. Ultralight backpacking can still be healthy.

This is needed when dealing with real estate negotiations. The make or break scenario usually depend on how an investor or a marketer built the relationship with the other parties in order for them to build the trust needed in closing a deal. Rapport should be established and spending time to meet with the other sellers makes a huge difference. This is a win-win situation for both parties. This will also a good turn for the future when some of their business friends will be recommended as well.

Simple mathematics should also be learned in order to be successful in Miami Real Estate Market. Lastly, remember that bargaining especially in Miami Real Estate Market really has need of patience as there are more than a hundred of real estate properties to choose from. Look for something that would yield better results and costs in the future to make sure that such property is a sure deal. See to it that the Miami Real Estate Market property is personally examined to be assured of the things itemized during the agreement and something that fully met the required needs.

Consider these tips in order to yield successful results in Miami Real Estate Market, specifically leasing:

- expect more than ten times of responses if an ad is placed with the ?Option to buy? terms than when a ?for Rent? is placed. That is because many are still trying to buy a piece of property in Miami and leasing could be their last resort.

- there are more calls coming from more interested tenants to a property and there is higher price involved.

- remember that the lease option when selling out a property yields more monthly income. The fees include the granting the lease fee and the monthly rent for the property. In return more cash flow is expected.

- it?s a positive outlook for future buyers as well because they are given the opportunity and the chance to possibly own a place in one of Miami?s real estates. These people are willing to pay a higher amount for the leasing agreement just to have a place of their own.

An Introduction To Car Seat Covers

This article is An Introduction To Car Seat Covers.

Car seat covers are essential upholstery for the car if one wishes to maintain their car in impeccable condition. These covers can be put over the seats and they protect the seats from undesirable external and internal elements of the car.

These covers are tailored to fit over the seats of the cars. They can be custom made to make a perfect fit. They are held in place by zippers or Velcro fasteners or buttons. Velcro fasteners are the most popular as they do not cause any discomfort to the person sitting on the seat. They can be made of cloth, leather or any synthetic material and are washable. Dustproof and stain-proof materials such as neoprene are selected to make better quality car seat covers.

Though some covers are custom designed to fit particular car seats, most of them available in the market are of standard sizes and can fit all types of seats in all kinds of vehicles. They are marginally cheaper than custom designed covers. Covers are made with a foam lining, which may be three to eight inches thick to provide added comfort for the person sitting on the seat. The foam lining also provides insulation to the person.

The basic function of car seat covers is to protect the seats from spoilage. Expensive seats of cars can be saved from animal marks, food marks, sweat stains, etc. by using car seat covers. Car seat covers are a small investment considering they protect precious car seats. It is necessary to wash car seat covers frequently especially after long drives and after the car has been kept in the garage for a long time with the covers on. While buying a car seat cover, it must be checked if the covers are easy to remove and put on so that they can be washed regularly.

Each car seat cover may cost about $30 to $70 depending on the finish and the material with which it has been made. Car seat covers are now available in several patterns and colors. It becomes aesthetically important to match the car seat cover with the rest of the interiors of the car. Car seat covers are today not just a matter of security, but also a matter of vehicle enhancement.

Get Ready to Shop for Foreclosures

Decent and value-for-money property is on top of everyone's priority. May it be out of sheer necessity (in the case of newlyweds) or as an investment or both, a house remains to be one significant and indispensable property. Those who are planning to purchase the proverbial dream house have several options other than buying the first property offered to them. If buyers are not challenged with a strict budget, then they can splurge by having their houses custom-made or by scouting for the house of their fancy in real estate magazines or websites. To be honest, there's no thrill in shopping for a house if the buyers have more than enough money to buy it. Indeed, it is much more exciting to look for a house if there's a certain budget. It's very much like shopping in Saks Fifth Avenue and flea markets. Shopping in flea markets packs much adventure and surprise because you're in for the thrill of buying something of great worth for a dirt-cheap price. The same goes with buying foreclosures property. Scouting for good foreclosures houses or buildings entails patience and endurance, but in the end, it's all worth it.

Experts in the field of home buying advise consumers to explore the possibilities of purchasing foreclosures. This is the general term for properties, which are used as payment assurance for debt or mortgage and given up by the original owners as payment for the lender. It is also possible that the owners failed to pay the mortgage installment set by the lender. The latter may be an individual, bank, or cooperative. After the mortgaged property is foreclosed, the lender often declares that the property's on sale by publishing it on dailies or public newsletters. Buyers should have a nose for some great properties at stake. The beauty of buying foreclosed properties is that it is usually much cheaper than brand new ones or those sold by real estate agents.

Once a potential buyer spots a foreclosures property, he should do his assignment immediately since there's a big chance others are also interested in that same structure (especially if it's cheap and in good condition). The buyer should conduct research and ocular inspection of the structure to personally find out if it needs minor refurbishing or major renovation. It is also wise to check the going rates for real property in the specific area. This gives the buyer an idea if the structure is really sold for a lower price or not. While a foreclosures property may seem like a good buy at first, it should be given a benefit of the doubt. Buyers should do the necessary legwork to ensure he is really purchasing a gem.

Ultralight Backpacks The Lightest Out There

Why ultralight backpacks? Devotees of ultralight backpacking know you reduce your packweight most by concentrating on the ig three; backpack, shelter, and sleeping bag. Forget those 6-pound backpacks, 9-pound tents and 5-pound sleeping bags. Reduce that 20 pounds to less than 5, keep the other gear to 5 or 6 pounds, and you can chuck the hot and heavy hiking boots, put on the running shoes, and start enjoying those trails.

Four Ounce Ultralight Backpacks

No, that's not a typo. One of the ultralight backpacking suppliers recently came out with a light pack with a capacity of 1800 cubic inches, plus more in an expandable rear pocket. Designed to carry just fifteen pounds, It may be more fragile than the average pack, but it weighs just 3.7 ounces! With a pack that light you're well on your way to keeping your total packweight to fifteen pounds.

I bought a six ounce pack at Walmart. Maybe you didn't know they sold ultralight backpacks, and niether did they. I'm sure it was intended as a daypack. However, it has 1200 cubic inches and weighs only 6 ounces, so I'll use it for summer overnighters. At $4, it was light on the budget too.

It easy to imagine that a decent-sized backpack can be made at home that weighs less than 8 ounces. If it's a simple one, without extra pockets, made from light nylon material, how much could it weigh? Making your own may be the way to get the lightest backpack.

Alternatives To Ultralight Backpacks

I've used my 8-ounce duffle bag for backpacking. With no pockets, it's tough to organize things, but it has lots of room, and it is very tough. In practice, the full-length zipper makes it so easy to see everything that organization isn't very important.

I also have tied the duffle bag to an an old aluminum pack-frame, to create a full-suspension backpack. It has a hip belt, comfortable padded straps, and weighs exactly two pounds. It worked fine on a trip above timberline in the mountains of Montana. If there are any lighter exterior-frame ultralight backpacks out there, I haven't seen them.

You can also go on overnight trips with just a bivy sack, a bottle of water and a few granola bars in the pockets of your jacket. I've done this in the summer. Of course, I suppose without ultralight backpacks, this can't even be called backpacking.

Shops of New York Manhattan

For tourists, it is always a great fun to read in a booklet that the city they are going to is he best shopping venue, as any city will call itself the best one. However, you may be sure that Manhattan, New York is like a shopping paradise.
Most of the Manhattan grocery stores are quite typical with standard choice of goods. But, if you live at yappi district there are two places worth visiting: Zabar's and Fairway. The first one is famous all over the world for its rare products such as all sorts of caviar, nightingale tongues and so on. The second looks like a rebuilt hangar with its glass walls. Anything can be found here: hundreds nut sorts, dozens of sausages kinds, cheese, salads, pre-prepared food, Syrian pitas, fruits, vegetables, Italian ham and what not. If you plan to buy products for a week here, mind that they will be eaten in three days.

Deli or delicatessens are the mixture of restaurants and shops. The centre of the room is full of all kinds of sauces, shrimps, crabs and what not - all for one price. But it is better to buy food at highly visited delis, where food is not spoilt.
Vitamin Shops might be of special surprise to you. There is a wide choice of vitamins - note that Americans take them daily. There are vitamins for pregnant women in their middle thirties, for schoolchildren that do not study well, for those who win Olympic games... The choice is amazing.

But the best shops are, of course, Clothing and shoe stores. The most popular ones are huge DAFFY'S, TJ MAXX'S, SYM'S and Century 21 shops with their excellent choice of clothes for reasonable prices. For instance, you will find a lot of high-quality clothes made by unknown Italian brands here. Also, there are famous designer clothes that were produced in different years - the assortment is changing constantly so you will definitely be satisfied. If you do not like the thing you have already bought, you may return it back for a 8, 25 % tax.
Boutiques are also represented here with their latest collections, great variety, but sky-high prices as well. Those who are determined to come in will be welcomed by model boys dressed in expensive costumes.
Clothes that is most convenient and pleasant to wear is found at the casuals shops, like Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic и Eddie Bauer. Gaps can be found all over the place and offer high quality goods that does not look cheap. Old Navy - the giant's junior line with more than 200 huge shops all around the USA; Banana Republic offers more expensive and exquisite clothes with black colours dominating in polished shoes, shirts and costumes.
Eddie Bauer assortment is almost the same as in gap. Clothes can be ordered by catalogue and the choice is really good.
Gant is on top of this list. Things are rather expensive here, but its really worth it.
All in all, to choose your most favourite shopping place, you have to come to New York first and see it all for yourself!

Car Seat Safety: Statistics and Law

Driving around with your child, you want to make sure that your car is as safe as can be. Here's how to choose a car seat or booster seat for your child.

Know the Facts

According to the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, in Canada, collisions are the number one cause of death for children. Having a properly installed car seat can minimize fatalities, and decrease the risk by 75%.

Choose the Right Car Seat

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) surveys all car seats for infants and children. They are rated on a number of categories from clear instructions to ease of use. The good news is, car seat manufacturers are listening to the government's suggestions, and are constantly improving designs. For current information, visit the NHTSA website. You can easily find a car seat that has earned all As in every category. If you work with ebay or froogle at the same time, you can also complete some of your comparison shopping online. If you have seen a car seat that you think you like at the store, check out its safety rating.

Know the Age Groups

The following are just guidelines to get you started. You should always read the instructions on every car seat carefully to find out the height and weight restrictions.

Infants need to be in rear facing car seats. This is until they are roughly 1 year old or 20 lbs.

Toddlers need to be put in forward facing seats with tether straps. Tether straps are very important to safety: if your vehicle doesn't have a tether anchor, contact the dealership to have one installed. This is between roughly 20-40 lbs.

Children who are old enough move out of a car seat still need to use a booster seat. This is until the child is 4'9 tall. This will probably be until the child is about eight years old. Boosterseat.gov is a site that information on when your child can stop using a booster seat.

Airbags

Children should always stay in the back seat away from any airbags. This means that children should always ride in the back seat until they are old enough to use a regular seatbelt. Again, this will probably not be until your child is 8 or 9.

If you buy a used carseat

Make sure that it has not been in an accident. Make sure there is no discoloration or strain marks on the car seat. Check that it has been certified for safety. Don't buy a car seat more than ten years old.

NHTSA has a site, the Office of Defects investigation, that lists all car seats that were recalled from the year 1990 to present. You can check this site for your peace of mind.

Install it properly

You can call your local public health branch to stop by and make sure that your car seat is properly installed. Up to 80% of car seats were not installed correctly (and so would not have the same safety effects that they are designed for) at recent government-held car seat workshops. Find out if there are workshops that you can attend to establish quickly if your child will be safe.

Tips to Improve Your Home's Chances of Selling

Want to sell your home fast and at top dollar? Try enhancing the garage! Garage? Before you think I have completely lost my mind, let me explain. Women love kitchens, men love garages. Yet, most people completely ignore and destroy their garages to the point that they can?t even get one car in there. I can never understand that. There is so much value to having a clean, organized garage whether your home is on the market or you plan on staying there until the kids grow up.

When people plan to put their home on the market their thoughts sometimes turn to ?What can I do to make my home wow someone on a limited budget?? Renovating the kitchen or the bathroom can cost upwards of $15,000. Cleaning, organizing and making over the garage could cost under $3,000 and can provide a huge bang for the buck especially if you are trying to sell your home in a competitive market. Every family has one neat freak and sometimes it?s the man of the house. And, remember what I said earlier ? men love garages. Many times when I am showing homes, the women migrate to the kitchen and the men go right for the garage.

Here?s some easy and cost effective ideas for your garage:

?Do a thorough sorting of the items in your garage. Make separate piles of keep, toss, and donate. Follow through on the toss and donate before you move on to the next step.

?Paint the walls in a taupe or grey color using satin or gloss paint finish. This way when you need to wipe up, it will be easy to do. Plus this finish will last you years longer than the builder?s flat white paint you started with.

?Buy some inexpensive fully finished, full back cabinets with easy clean melamine interiors and exteriors. Make sure that they hold a load of at least 100 pounds per shelf. Things we store in the garage are heavy. Mount some top cabinets for seasonal storage and some lower cabinets for items used more frequently. Be sure to mount the lower cabinets off the floor a few inches to prevent water damage.

?Look into some of the new finishes for the garage floor. Strategies Learned From a Board Game That Apply to Work From Home Businesses

Can you really learn work from home business strategies from a board game? Robert Kiyosaki thinks so. He created the game Cashflow. I've heard it described as an MBA version of Monopoly.

In the game, you start out on the inner track called the rat race. Sound familiar? Isn't that where most of us spend our lives? Each player is assigned a certain occupation with corresponding income, expenses, and debts. As you roll the dice and move around the track, you can land on opportunities and have the chance to buy investments that help you build up passive income (money that comes in consistently over time whether you work or not.)

The object is for your passive income to exceed your expenses. When that occurs, you move to the outer track which is called the fast track. And isn't that were we want to be in life?

Looking strictly from a money perspective, I see that we have two choices in life.

Choice One: Live paycheck to paycheck and hope when you retire there's enough to live on.

Choice Two: Have enough passive income to cover your expenses so you can work because you choose to, not because you have to. And this goes hand in hand with not having to make other life choices based on what you can afford.

So, if you choose number 2, the next question is, How do you get there? Here is what I've learned from playing the game.

* Begin with the end in mind. Know what you end game is, your goals, and create a strategy that will get you there.
* Keep focused on that strategy. Every decision you make needs to propel you toward your end goal.
* Start small and continually build. I find that looking for automated businesses is a great way to create passive income, not only in the game, but also in the game of life. Online businesses that can basically run on autopilot (like information product based businesses) are a great investment for creating passive income.
* Realize Cashflow is a game, but so is life. The principles that work in the game, also work in real life.

Is it possible to learn real life lessons from this engaging game? I find the answer to be yes. Not only is it a lot of fun and a great way to spend an evening, it's also a great way to train your mind to think like an entrepreneur and an investor.

About a Career in Real Estate Field

To become a real estate agent is very easy. About schools, that is one question to ask the brokers. You may be sure in every area there are several private real estate schools, and many community colleges offering courses. To find private real estate schools search the yellow pages after the Real Estate - General section. Most schools let you sample their program or classes.

It generally takes two months of classes and then you should take the exam. When you pass you need to activate your license under a broker from your area. At that moment you need sales training classes, unless you was born a sales person. I think you realize that you will wait 3-4 months in the real estate field before to see an income stream flowing. What I want to say is you need some financial resources to live on while getting your shoes on the ground.

To be a successful real estate agent is the highly competitive Acting in Real Estate field you will work hard and it will take time to build your own successful business. As a compensation of your hard work, the payoffs is great. Real Estate is one of the highest paying sales professions in the United States of America.

You will enjoy working out of your home office, work flexible hours, and set your own schedule. In addition there are few, if any, businesses you can start up for the investment you will make in becoming a professional Real Estate Agent.

Style Yourself like a Celebrity: Gorgeous Prom Jewelry for Every Dress

A dress without accessories is like a Christmas tree without ornaments: beautiful but oddly naked. Celebrities and their stylists know that carefully selected accessories can make or break an outfit. Coordinated accoutrements can tie your look together, creating a pleasing package, while clashing pieces can distract the eye and throw off your entire look.

While it's difficult to decide which of the myriad wonderful accessories to wear, you don't need a celebrity stylist to get it right, as long as you keep the following time-tested tips in mind. And remember: less is more. Wear too many accessories and nothing will get noticed, except the fact that you piled too much on.

Prom Jewelry
The most obvious prom accessory, jewelry, is easy to get right if you consider two things: your hairstyle and your dress. (Personal style counts, too, but only you know what suits you. Choose pieces you'd wear after prom and you won't go wrong.) Think also of color. Try not to match your dress exactly, but rather choose colors that compliment your ensemble. For example, a green dress will look great with deep blue or black gemstone jewelry. When in doubt, wear diamonds or pearls--they look great with everything! My personal favorites are freshwater pearls. In addition to white, freshwater pearls come in many beautiful pastel colors, like lavender, peach, pink and yellow that complement a variety of fabrics. Freshwater pearls are also surprisingly affordable.

Jewelry and Prom Hairstyle
Your prom hairstyle plays a major role in the type of earrings that work. If your hair is short or will be in an updo, you have tons of great earring options. Pearl, diamond and gemstone studs are always elegant, and have the added bonus of allowing you to choose a bolder necklace. Drop earrings look great too, and are sweetly feminine. If you choose a bolder earring, like a stiletto or chandelier style, keep other jewelry simple. The same goes for hair ornaments.

If your hair is long and you're wearing it down, you need an earring that can make a statement. Consider big bold gemstones or dangling hoops or a chandelier or stiletto style. (Think Reese Witherspoon, Queen Latifah and Jessica Alba at the Oscars.) Just don't overdo it by wearing a bold necklace or bracelet. One standout piece of jewelry is sufficient.

Jewelry and Prom Dress...
* Spaghetti straps: You have tons of great jewelry options here, but again, you want to pick subtle jewelry or one standout piece. Consider a wide pearl cuff bracelet and a pearl ring, or pearl, diamond, or gemstone dangle earrings and a diamond or pearl pendant. A bezel set diamond--or CZ--works well with a spaghetti-strapped dress. Just make sure, if you're wearing a great bracelet, that your date doesn't get you a wrist corsage.

* Strapless: The majority of prom 2006 dress styles are strapless. That's good news for jewelry lovers, as your prom necklace can really stand out. Choose something short to accent your collarbones like a princess length pearl strand or a diamond or pearl pendant. Don't wear a necklace that comes to the top of the bodice; you don't want the fabric and the jewelry to compete. If the necklace you choose is simple, consider adding bold earrings or a bracelet for added pizzazz.

* Cap- or short-sleeved: Play up your arms and balance out the dress' sleeves with tons of thin stackable bracelets (I love wood, shell and enamel, but not all together, of course). Pick a simple necklace and earrings, or go without. If bangles drive you nuts while you dance, skip them and choose a wide cuff instead.

* High-necked: Lose the necklace (it'll compete) and instead pair a high necked dress with a simple pair of earrings and an elegant bracelet in the same stone. Or stack several bracelets in lieu of a wrist corsage. Remember to choose a piece that won't compete with the bold neckline of this dress. Shoulder-grazing earrings are an option here if they suit the dress's style. They'll be dramatic and sophisticated for sure!

* Square-necked: A square-necked dress is the best setting to show off a beautiful necklace. Borrow Mom's pearls or Grandma's diamond pendant, buy freshwater pearls in a color that complements your dress, or choose a bold gemstone piece if the dress is jewel toned. Play it up here, but keep other prom accessories simple.

* V-necked: Matching necklace and earrings can pull your look together very well, as the V draws attention to your face and collarbones. For no-brainer options, choose a pearl set or a simple bezel-set diamond pendant and stud earrings.

* Plunging: Consider pinning a vintage brooch at the bottom of the plunge, or adorning yourself with a pearl choker, diamond collar or a plain ribbon. Don't wear a longer necklace as it'll detract from the plunge. Keep earrings simple.

* Simple: Lucky you! A simple prom dress such as a sheath, allows you to get a lot funkier with your accessories. The layered look is still hot, so consider piling on a few long gold chains with shorter pearl necklaces, or pearl-and-chain combos. A sparkly diamond cuff, a la Hilary Swank at the Oscars, (go faux!) always looks chic. Remember that you'll be dancing, so no extra long pearl ropes as you'll risk whipping your fellow prom goers.

* Ornate: An ornate dress is a work of art. Depending on the style and level of detail, you may want to choose a simple piece of jewelry, such as a diamond pendant, pearl necklace, simple gold chain or pearl, diamond or gold studs. Stay away from glittery jewelry that will compete with the dress. If the neckline is high and bejeweled, opt out of jewelry entirely and consider pinning something sparkly in your hair instead. A bold, chunky cocktail ring can work wonders here too.

* Vintage: Make it modern with multiple strands or stacks of bangle bracelets or layered necklaces. I like a few shorter gold pieces layered with gold and pearl chains. But don't go overboard: a dress that makes a statement should not be overwhelmed with jewelry. Depending on the dress, a beautiful pearl strand tied with ribbon or a simple pair of diamond studs can work too.

Remember, all top stylists worth their salt know that, when it comes to accessories, it's best to stick with pieces that won't overwhelm your look. The most important tip? Have a blast and keep in mind that getting ready for prom is almost always the best part, so savor every moment!

Wynn Las Vegas

Wynn Las Vegas, the new mega resort. Steve Wynn originally named the resort Le Reve after the renowned painting by Picasso that he owns, but he then decided it was not nearly as exciting as the name Wynn Las Vegas. Think of the implications - you can win Las Vegas at WYNN!

Having stayed at The Desert Inn many times in the past I know that I'm excited about Wynn Las Vegas being on the site of the old Desert Inn, their will be ghosts I'm sure. Steve Wynn is such a magician when it comes to bringing the best to Las Vegas, and he's certainly on the site of where the best once was! The Desert Inn built in 1950 was the first hotel or resort to use water features in the desert. They had the original Dancing Waters Show and a fountain at their entrance. The Tournament of Champions (first Las Vegas golf tournament) was broadcast by NBC. It also boasted an observation tower, The Skyroom, the new Strip's best views. You would overlook Sunrise Mountain and the twinkling lights that were beginning to show on the desert floor, but Wilbur Clark with all his imagination could not envision this bronzed glass spectacle that is Wynn Las Vegas.

Everyone in the travel industry is certainly excited to stay and enjoy this new thrill, several years in the making. I watched the cranes and the earth being moved around and am now ready to experience the phoenix rising from the ashes. The water-themed $1.85 billion megaresort has 42-story hotel tower, a three-acre man-made lake, Wynn's private art collection in an on-site museum, golf course and several private gambling areas.

Wynn megaresort has 2,701 rooms, an average esort room is 640 square feet, with special bedding, a sitting area with couch and ottoman, floor to ceiling windows with views of Las Vegas skyline and electronic controls to control the window treatments to shut-out or bring-in the views. The price tag for middle of the week is around $249.00, not exorbitant for the luxury you will enjoy. There is also a selection of suites, including a Tower Suite, Salon, Parlor or Executive Suite. All with the appropriate amenities...and even though the accommodations are out of this world, you'll be spending more time doing other things.

If you want to shop till you drop, you can break the bank in the shops just as easily as at the casino. Just one item from each shop could do it. A bracelet from Cartier, shoes from Manolo Blahnik, a cute little purse from Judith Lieber. Don't forget Gizmos, where you can buy a wild toy for your boy! Pick up some Estee Lauder sunscreen, a silk shirt at Brioni for the man in your life, a watch at Wynn & Co., so you know when it's time to eat, a fancy pen to sign your checks or new sunglasses at W. Ink. A classy jacket from Chanel, some designer fragrance from John Paul Gaultier, an exciting outfit to lounge around the pool from Oscar de la Renta and you're all set to stay at Wynn Las Vegas for another couple of days...oh oh, we forgot to mention you can pick up a gull-wing Ferrari at Penske-Wynn showroom to drive home.

You can take a day to relax in the sumptuous spa, get a facial, body treatments (my personal favorite, Fresh Brown Sugar Body Treatment) what a way to get a sugar shock...and it wont go to the hips either. Massage, try a Good Luck Ritual a fung shui experience based on health, wealth, prosperity, happiness and harmony, how can you miss with this under your belt or on your body or where ever. You might need a special foot treatment after all the shopping; the spa can take care of this as well!

If you plan to play golf, be prepared to experience one of the greatest golf courses in the world, with elevation changes not seen in anywhere else in Vegas. Designed by Tom Fazio along with Steve Wynn, you find 18 holes to take your breath away. Eleven water holes, with a waterfall on 18, 2 marshland areas that use underground water, Pennlinks Bentgrass greens and the best part of all, many old trees, some over 50 years old, that were salvages from the old Desert Inn golf course and replanted to once overlook play on the course...and all of this right our side your hotel room! To play this 7,042 yard, par 70 course, you must be a guest at Wynn Las Vegas.

After doing all this shopping and putting or gambling which is really what Vegas is all about, you'll be ready for dinner and a show. Remember the name Le Reve, it now is the name of a water show extravaganza, directed by Franco Dragone, a show like no other, which truly refects on it's name The Dream, theater in the round, so no seat is more than 40 feet away from the action. You merge with the actors in this one.

Food, an assortment of restaurants to keep you busy for a week at least. Red 8 for Hong Kong dim sum and barbecue. SW Steakhouse, good old American steak with flavors of Alsace, does this mean the best entrecote you ever ate. Okada, where you will enjoy authentic robata cooking and shushi prepared by Chef Takashi Yagahaski, voted Best New Chef by Food & Wine. Alex with flavors of the Riviera, this one gets 2 Mobil 5 Star awards and the AAA 5 Diamond designation. Corsa Cucina, a delightful cafe and excellent selection of wood-fired pizzas. Tableau with fine American cuisine open for dinner to all guests, breakfast and loch for Tower Suite guests only. Another winner is Daniel Boulurd Brasserie, James Beard award, Four AAA 5 Diamond awards, and three Mobil 5 Star awards. Bartolotta Ristorante de Mare, fresh fish flown in daily plus excellent pasta dishes and enjoy Jimmy Sneed's over at the Country Club.

The casino offers every table game including Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, and all your favorite poker games, including Let-It-Ride, over 1900 slots and the most exciting a chance to win megabucks jackpot for 1 cent. This is Steve Wynn's brainchild a $10,000,000.00 penny slot machine. Watch out for the stampede to Wynn Las Vegas.
